"One Day Your Dog Will Die"

One day you’ll wish you had one last walk together. So make the most of the time you have. Be silly. Jump around. Get dirty. Your dog is forever a child. A perfect, selfless creature, incapable of negativity. In an ever-changing, complicated, selfish world – full of people who just don’t realise how lucky they are – a dog’s life is dedicated to loving and serving YOU. All they ask is that you throw a ball now and then. Remember – one day your dog will die. So when that day comes, will you be able to say you done your best? Did you let your dog run? Did you take off its lead and let it sprint as fast as it could? A walk up the street and back with your earphones in is not good enough – your dog needs to be a dog. It needs to explore, see, hear and smell new places. Letting your dog loose in the garden isn’t a walk. Who cares if you get dirty, big deal if you get wet, one day that lovely creature won’t come home from the vet. One day pictures are all you’ll have left. The smell slowly fades as your home becomes a house. When silence fills your empty rooms and gaping heart – can you say deep down – you done enough? We’re afraid to be who we really are, to express ourselves and do the things that we really want for fear of upsetting strangers. In the constant pursuit for acceptance, financial rewards and stuff – we let life pass us by in fear of fear itself – the complete opposite of our loyal companions. From the moment your dog first looked into your eyes, its purpose in life was known. The purpose of doing everything it possibly can to please you. To make you happy. To make you proud. To give you love. To give, and give, and give again – until the day you look into their eyes as they close for the very last time. Though a dog’s life is short, it has a lot of living to be done. One day its happy tail will stop wagging. One day its perfect heart will stop beating. One day you’ll wish you had one last walk together.
